Zibi Block 206, the first residential high-rise component, will offer innovative co-living residential units in addition to private apartments. These co-living spaces will be the first of their kind in Canada; featuring small, private living quarters with shared bathrooms, kitchens, lounges and other amenities. The adjacent Block 207, concurrently being built, is an adaptive reuse project consisting of commercial retail/office space.

The building consists of 146 residential units with commercial/retail on the ground floor and 2 levels of underground parking. This building will energize the neighbourhood by encouraging pedestrian activity and promoting retail and commercial opportunities.

The WE Global Learning Centre is the new headquarter offices of WE Charity. Located in the Historic Corktown neighbourhood, Toronto, the WE Global Learning Centre provides educational programs and resources for young entrepreneurs eager to change the world. To reflect the innovative spirit of WE Charity, Kohn, Triaxis Construction and K2DesignWorks restored and modernized the century-old building—once home to the iconic Marty Millionaire furniture store—into a state-of-the-art learning hub.

Military Trail

Military Trail consists of 2 mid-rise buildings with access to both indoor and outdoor amenity space for residents. The buildings are articulated through a mix of window wall cladding with glazing and opaque spandrel panels, along with precast panels with inlaid brick veneer.

The Planet Fitness franchise approached Kohn to design a series of tenant fit-out work in the GTA. The first of these was a Planet Fitness location in Mississauga’s Westdale Mall. The interior space was designed to Planet Fitness’ brand package, which included the Black Card Spa, workout studio, specialized equipment rooms, locker room, showers, and washrooms.

Dixie & Lakeshore

This mid-rise development is located at the east end of Mississauga’s Lakeshore corridor with views to the lake and Downtown Toronto. The nuanced massing strategy responds to the varied site edges which include a naturalized ravine to the west, pedestrian oriented street frontages to the east and south, and single family residential to the north. A raised central courtyard and contemporary material palette give the feeling of a distinct community within the evolving urban fabric.

100 Front Street

The original buildings at 100 Front Street are the last remaining evidence of the Market Square in the Town of York, dating back to 1833. Working with the Provincial Heritage Branch, a program of restoration and new construction was implemented to maintain the essential character of the original buildings and provided a vibrant street presence, while creating a modern and functional retail and office facility. In 1988, the Toronto Historical Board conferred its Award of Merit for the design and construction of this project.
