About the project
EtobiCo is an emerging district for creative entrepreneurs. The development is growing through a connected community of buildings in Toronto’s South Etobicoke neighbourhood, along Advance Road, Norseman St and Bering St. With curated work spaces and amenities, the development tailors to a new class of entrepreneurs looking to cowork, lease or own transformative work spaces in South Etobicoke. The Downing Street Group and Kohn Partnership Architects have brought the EtobiCo buildings together with an established black and white brand, mixing modern and industrial elements to create a community of buildings and an exciting district of workspace.
Located at 39 Advance Road, WorkCo is a retrofitted warehouse and new cowork space. It provides hot desks, dedicated desks, private offices, and both an indoor and outdoor social hub for the EtobiCo community. This adaptive-reuse project is reminiscent of its industrial past, benefitting from the building’s high ceilings, brick and block walls, concrete floors, steel structure and factory-style windows, which have been exposed and refinished. The curated office space has been strategically placed within this industrial shell to provide both public and private spaces for its users to work. They can experience all of the comforts and conveniences of a larger office and community while still benefiting from their own personal space to call their own.
